The 2016 Prison Service’s National Cross Country Running Championship had 291 participants. Prison Service Training and Conference Center and Márianosztra Strict and Medium Regime Prison organized two races, a 2 km and a 10 km one, for participants from 34 Prison Service institutions. Last year’s winner, the Pálhalma National Prison team, won again.

The Cross Country Running Championship took place on April 20, 2016, at and around the shooting range of Márianosztra Strict and Medium Regime Prison. This was the organization’s largest national sporting event, with Col Zoltán Szabó, Director of Prison Service Training Center opening the race together with Brig Gen László Biczó, Governor of Márianosztra Strict and Medium Regime Prison.

The new race track, new environment, nice weather and good company made it a day to remember. Team results were the following:

1st: Pálhalma National Prison
2nd: Prison Service Headquarters
3rd: Állampuszta Netional Prison
4th: Sopronkőhida Strict and Medium Regime Prison
5th: Budapest Strict and Medium Regime Prison
6th: Budapest Remand Prison
